Hungerford Town Council is progressing plans to adopt and relocate the town's iconic red telephone box to a safe new location. A planning application is being submitted for its proposed siting outside Fairwise Travel, and we will keep you updated as the project moves forward.

Subject to the necessary legal agreements and planning approvals being completed, the Council will take responsibility for the telephone box's future maintenance, helping to preserve an important piece of Hungerford's heritage for years to come.

The Council has also been working with local community groups to explore potential new uses for the box. Early discussions suggest it could serve as a Tourist Information point, ensuring it remains both a cherished historic landmark and a practical community asset.
